Staircase to hell

I usually don't like posting a subject twice... I prefer my photos to be all different from one another. Anyway, this time I had a really hard time choosing between two types of treatment for the same shot and decided to break this "rule".

I was with a friend of mine in an abandoned mill factory near Altopascio (Tuscany), when he took a shot of this staircase. He immediately noticed how his camera had enhanced the good-looking natural red-to-blue gradient on the wall. I decided to steal a pic of this wonder of oldness too.

In this shot I preferred to lose partially the gradient detail to maintain the "muted style" I love.

- Treatment: Levels, curves, sharpness, saturation, color cast and texture superimposing. Uh! I forgot! Dodge&burn&sponge =)
