Little Mac on the Big Manistee 3/3 - a photo on Flickriver

A closer view of the bridge. (Finally I have the sun in the correct spot, and you can see the true color of the great October sky we get here!)

Late afternoon sun along the Manistee River, just downstream from the Hodenpyl Dam and southeast of Marilla, MI. This bridge is known as the "Little Mac" -- it's the largest wooden suspension bridge in Lower Michigan. Here's an aerial view of this area. You can use the bridge to access the north end of the Manistee River Trail. A lot of folks use this bridge as a connector between Manistee River Trail (which runs along the east side of the river) and the North Country Trail (which runs along the west side of the river).
