Bruguiera gymnorrhiza flower - a photo on Flickriver

            Bruguiera is a common genus of mangroves native to the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia but not Hawaii. Like the Rhizophora species, they bear fruit that germinate on the tree, producing long propagules that float until they land on a mud flat where they can take root. The trunks have buttresses but not stilt roots. Called rok or yangach in Yapaese.
