Sunrise at Pine Mountain Lake - a photo on Flickriver

            I woke up before crack of dawn and couldn't sleep and decided to work on my night photography finally. I drove down to the lake to find the gate at the marina was locked so I headed back up and walked down to the lake in the pitch black. It is eerie in places like this where there are no street lights and the stars are so brilliant. While I waited, I saw a shooting star. Later on, the two white swans that have taken up residence at the lake decided to take a bath in front of where I was shooting. I was unable to see them, but could hear them splashing around and finally turned the flashlight on to see what was happening. After shooting the stars for a few hours, the sun finally rose and after a pretty unexciting sunset the previous evening, I got a brilliant show in the morning.
