General Dynamics F-16AM J-197 (cn 6D-104) Royal Netherlands Airforce – RNLAF (Koninklijke Luchtmacht literally "Royal Air Force”), 313sq (based at Volkel) taxiing out at Leeuwarden AB during Frisian Flag 2015 (photo 2518-1).

From 1979 onwards 213 F-16A and Bs were license-built by Fokker. Due to aircraft lost in accidents and aircraft being sold off (29 F-16A and 7 F-16B were sold to Chile, 6 F-16B were sold to Jordan) or retired to be used for spares due to budget cuts only 61 remain today. The F-16s are based at Volkel (312 and 313 Squadron) and Leeuwarden (322 Squardon) and will be replaced (although it seems by even lower numbers) by F-35s in the coming decade or so.
