Out it Comes!

Looking closely at a couple of silver necklaces I realised that their chains were made using silver wire links. That set me thinking that I could photograph one but .........

I knew I had some single-strand copper wire somewhere so it was just a case of finding a piece. So much is multi-strand with lots of fine threads twisted together, and I didn't want that.

The only piece I found was carefully stripped of covering and with a length cut a coil made by wrapping the wire around a thin pencil. Carefully slitting the coil lengthways I had a collection of near-circular rings of bright shiny copper.

Then just a case of linking the rings together to make the chain that you see !!!!!!

Now for the photograph. I tried several ideas and in the end, decided to dip the chain into slightly soapy water in a bowl.

I must be mad but I really did enjoy making that chain!
