Frayed Ribbon - a photo on Flickriver

Frayed Ribbon

            This was a possibility for last week's theme of 'Ribbon' in the group 'Smile on Saturday''.

A piece of Christmas ribbon that I've had in my 'bit' box for years, so much so that the ends have frayed.

So, just thrown onto the table with a background of a gift bag, and I took a photos with two different camera lenses.

As for the bokeh - circles as the aperture blades were wide open! 

I've used a lens from yet another broken camera - lens removed using the usual amount of brute force and then glued to a camera body cap in which I had cut a hole! 
The depth of field is SMALL!

Was it worth the effort? 
The result is certainly different from that obtained using the previous lens. I think this is one I will want to use again.
