Twinklings of Life

She was smiling at his father when he said “Look that guy is taking your picture”.

This little lady was working with his father at the sawmill of old town dhaka. When I and Jeff Davies entered in that area, they took a little break to see the big white Australian and a deshi guy with long hair. Jeff’s aussie accent and “Hello how are ya?” already made a crowd who were following us, there started a competition about who could drag Jeff into their place for a picture before the other guy did. Everyone was enjoying, smiling wide open, forgetting anything that should be forgotten.

The presence of the 35mm made her smile with a distant fairytale imagination of floating her away from the dusty grains of chipped woods to the fluffy cloud filled blue sky, whereas us, the people of the modern word driven by hunger of more and more materials will look for a meaning in the black and white version of her unconditional smile. Can’t we all be happy and contained in small twinklings of life?
