Piano Deconstructed - a photo on Flickriver

            Rather than send the old piano to the scrap yard when it was no longer playable without significant restoration, we're taking it apart and turning it into a piece of furniture.  The piano dates back to about 1910 when my great grandmother traded a cow for it so that my grandfather could learn to play it.  It has the Clarendon brand, but was made locally in the Norwich Piano Factory (Norwich, New York) entirely by hand and then transported by horse and wagon about 15 miles away to my family homestead in Smyrna, New York.
I'm of the 4th generation to play it and I've transported it with me through a number of different residences in 3 different states.
