Value Study - Markers - a photo on Flickriver

            I bought some markers to do value studies. I got a 30% grey, a 70% grey, and a black. Today I'm sitting in the backyard trying them out. I did a quick pencil sketch first to place the major shapes. Next I used the 30% grey marker, then the black, and finally the 70% grey. I was able to get some intermediate tones by going over an area twice. These markers dry a little lighter. I had to go over the black twice to get a true black. Afterwards I discovered that these markers bled through my journal page and ruined a watercolor sketch I had done on the other side. Live and learn. That's what these tests are for.
