Martin de Rothschild - a photo on Flickriver

            Endémique de l’île de Bali, le Martin de Rothschild, appelé aussi étourneau de Bali, vit dans les forêts et les savanes plantées d’acacias.
Victime du commerce d’oiseaux exotiques, actuellement protégé et pratiquement éteint dans la nature, il fait l’objet d’un programme de réintroduction. C’est l’un des oiseaux les plus rares et les plus menacés.

Endemic to the island of Bali, the Rothschild's Martin, also called the Bali starling, lives in forests and savannahs planted with acacias.
Victim of the exotic bird trade, currently protected and practically extinct in the wild, it is the subject of a reintroduction program. It is one of the rarest and most endangered birds.
