Sunset rope - a photo on Flickriver

Sunset rope

            It was kinda hard to get the exposures right, but the final result looks pretty good!

How I took it:
First I did some test shots, and could't get the dynamic range right. So I got an idea of doing a multi exposure, one for the rope and one for the sky.

So I did remove the lens cap so I could get my hand closer to the glass (the closer, the darker). I bend my fingers around sky and exposed 1/30s for the bottom part.
Then I tried to keep as steady as possible, covering the bottom with my hand, and expose 1/1000s for the sky, still handheld.
