A second photo from our visit to the nature reserve on Brownsea Island in 1970, a short while after I took this one. At this stage we were "just good friends" and were staying i a youth-hostel-type dormitory for ornithologists on the island so we could experience the amazing bird life activty around dawn. Later we went for a walk along the shore wearing our swimsuits under our clothes. We found a small beach and as the sun was getting really hot we had a swim, sitting in the sun to dry (we did not bring towels with us). After a short sleep M went behind some bushies to change and brought back her still damp bikini, asking if I could take it in my bag as we continurd the walk. Her thin knitted top was slightly transparent and made it clear that she was wearing nothing underneath it, which I found very exciting, especially as we climbed up the bank and the cool sea breeze created the nice 3-D effect I captured in this photo.

I think her smile showed that we were not going to be "just good friends" for much longer...
