IC 1027 on a late Amtrak 58 - a photo on Flickriver

            Amtrak 58 normally makes its arrival in Champaign before dawn. On this Monday, April 15, the apparent failure of both of 58's engines – the relatively new 326 and 312 – necessitated being helped northward by a nearly 30-year-old SD70 still in Illinois Central black.

As 58 approaches the Champaign station, it passes the University of Illinois power plant running 7 hours 40 minutes late.
