And then I got a little more than just sea spray all over my filter.

Last night I met up for the first time with with flickr friend Steve (maxxsmart) at one of my favorite beaches, Dillon Beach. The weather was pretty rough- haze, fog, terrible wind, but the sky turned out to be pretty nice, not spectacular, but nice enough.

It was hard to keep my filter clean. I had just finished cleaning it for the umpteenth time when this sneaker wave came out of nowhere and blasted me. I was happy though because I knew I must have caught something interesting by the timing of the shutter release.
This shot epitomizes the hectic feeling the wind had at the beach last night.

This wasn't the best shot of the evening, but it was the first one I wanted to see because of the unique wave action.

Thanks to Steve for inviting me to join him on this shoot, it was fun and I hope we'll get together again sometime soon.

This is a single exposure, shot with a cokin nd8x grad filter, processed in ACR.
