Vista de Galera

            Galera es un municipio granadino situado en la parte meridional de la comarca de Huéscar, a unos 150 kms. de Granada, y que limita con los municipios, tambien granadinos, de Huéscar, Orce, Cúllar y Castilléjar. 
El municipio comprende los núcleos de población de Galera, La Alquería, Cortijos del Cura y Buenavista; y su entorno se compone de parajes tan dispares como los fértiles campos de cultivos, regados por ríos y manantiales, y los paisajes semiáridos y vacíos de las tierras baldías, plagados de restos fósiles y vestigios históricos del pasado. 
Cabe destacar que en el casco urbano se encuentran numerosas casas - cueva, tradicionales de las regiones del sureste español, las cuales, algunas, se pueden apreciar en la imagen, en la parte superior de la localidad.
