Grouse In Upper Swaledale - a photo on Flickriver

            After a day out exploring new ground in the Dales and revisiting favourite places, these were the first grouse I had spotted that day and I was lucky enough to get a family of the male, the female and three chicks!  The chicks especially merge into the grass and moorland plants so well that they can be very difficult to see if they stand still or hunker down!

I am showing this set of photos in two series  so another set will follow.

Taken with my Canon Telephoto Zoom 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM EF Lens and apart from being cropped and framed in Photoshop, is SOOC.
