The Nave at Salisbury - a photo on Flickriver

            Salisbury Cathedral is famous for its rather narrow, very tall and rather awe-inspiring nave.  

It was also rather well lit when I visited.  The large windows, many up high, has allowed a lot of natural light into this very large building with massive stone walls. 

The height and light favoured in the English Gothic cathedral design seems to have been very successful here.  The ceiling vault here is unadorned, but their form and the ribs
