Cole Family 2013 - a photo on Flickriver

Cole Family 2013

For the third year Julie Cole and her family brought me in to do their "Extreme" family portrait. This time it was at their cottage.

The image is made up of 7 composited images of the family (though they were shot on location) blended over a 6 image horizontal panorama for the background.

Lighting info: We used an Elinchrom Ranger Quadra S-head through a 60" Photek Softlighter 2 boomed to camera right of each subject to fill in the shadow side of their face (sun was at camera left through the morning shoot). To achieve a balance with the sunlight we used the Pocketwizard MiniTT1 on the camera & a FlexTT5 on the Quadra, set to Hypersync, achieving 1/500th at f/8 with the flash.
