Barrels Along Sassafras’ Patio - a photo on Flickriver

            While The Boss was engaged in some commercial transactions in downtown Beamsville, Ontario (just East of Grimsby), I took advantage of the brief opportunity to engage in some free-range photography-oriented wandering through the seamy underbelly of that metropolis (such as it is). Linking a downtown parking lot to the main street (King Street) is an alley sporting extensive wall murals done by Niagara Falls artist, Dan Kozina. The East wall of that alley belongs to the Sassafrass Coastal Kitchen & Bar. During the warmer weather, patrons of that establishment can partake in Sassafras’s food and beverages on their back patio which offers views of part of Dan’s work. The barrels and ropes define the boundary of the patio in order to comply with regulations for establishments offering refreshing adult beverages in otherwise open areas. Taken during a break in the all-day-rain, the colours really popped and the barrel tops provided some nice reflections. - JW
