Muskoka Chairs, 430 King West - a photo on Flickriver

            My brother-in-law and I headed off to downtown Toronto to introduce him to the city. Walking along King Street West, we came upon one of Toronto’s tiny urban parkettes, which, in this case, was simply a patio area with colourful Muskoka chairs inviting passers-by sit and take a load off. To get a true Toronto look, I waited until a TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) bus pulled up across the street. For me, the frame has three areas of interest: the Muskoka chairs, the bus and the small knot of man across the street along the left side of the frame. - JW

Taken using hand-held Nikon D800 fitted with an AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm VR 1:4.0 lense set to 124mm, ISO560 (Auto ISO), Auto WB, Matrix metering, Manual Mode, f7.1, 1/250 sec. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image size to be 9000px wide, use the Graduated Neutral Density/GND tool rotated and shifted to cover the right side of the frame to darken the brightly lit rear of the TTC bus, use the Shadows/Highlights tool to recover shadows and help bring up some detail in the black band around the bus windows, very sightly increase Contrast and Chromaticity, all slightly, in L-A-B mode, boost Vibrance a little, sharpen (edges only), save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: use the Hue-Saturation-Brightness tool to slightly darken the red channel a little,  slightly increase overall contrast, sharpen slightly, save, scale image to 6000px wide, sharpen slightly, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 3000 px wide for posting online, sharpen, save.
