104. I believe this ruin nearby was another school, Montrose, 3-27-18

            Montrose is a Ghost Town in east-central Jewell County. One of the 5 or so best Ghost Towns I've ver seen, the town boomed in the early automobile era with the building of US-36 through town. As the town began to decline, US-36 was rerouted around the town in the 1960s and all the auto-catering businesses fell out of use. That district is still surprisingly intact, if largely in ruins. Two or three old gas stations, what may be an old motel, and an old auto shop sit abandoned on the old highway. Many homes still stand but perhaps 5 are still occupied. There's also an abandoned bank, post office, elevator and the brick ruins of a school. Don't miss this one!
