Romano-British Infantry - a photo on Flickriver

            6mm figures from Irregular Miniatures and Heroics & Ros.

These were originally painted by me nearly twenty years ago for use with WRG's 7th Edition Ancients rules, then adapted for DBM when that came out. They were rebased for DBA when I gave up DBM as a bad lot, and have now been drafted into my vast collection of HOTT armies.

Whilst the overall acuracy of them is suspect, they are supposed to represent the kind of infantry fielded by British armies in the aftermath of the Roman withdrawal from Britain in the 5th Century AD - the historical Age of Arthur. On the left are irregular troops as would be raised by a local warlord, whilst those on the right are regular militia, as would be found in those towns and cities where the Roman way of life still clung on.
