Voiture Mauzin 212 - controle des voies

            In het verleden huurde de NS regelmatig een meetrijtuig, een voiture de controle des voies, van de Franse spoorwegen om de ligging van de sporen in Nederland op te meten. Dat rijtuig doorkruiste dan in korte tijd het hele land. Hier is zo’n meettrein onderweg in Goes, richting Roosendaal. Locomotief 1143 trekt de trein. Het meetrijtuig is de Mauzin 212, genoemd naar de Franse ingenieur die de meetapparatuur die in het rijtuig staat opgesteld, ontwierp. Het staat op vier draaistellen waarvan de middelste twee dienen om afwijkingen in het spoor vast te stellen. Het meetrijtuig wordt geflankeerd door twee Plan-D-rijtuigen van de Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

In the past, the NS regularly hired a measurement coach, a voiture de controle des voies, from the French railways to assess the condition of railway track in the Netherlands. That carriage then travelled all over the country in a short time. Here the measurement train is on its way in Goes, towards Roosendaal. Locomotive 1143 is pulling the train. The measurement coach is the Mauzin 212, named after the French engineer who designed the measuring equipment installed in the coach. The coach has four four-axled bogies, the middle two of which serve to determine track irregularities. The measuring coach is accompanied by two Dutch Railways Plan-D coaches.
