A Study in Contrasts - a photo on Flickriver

            How can water possibly be that blue?  That hue of blue is amazing!  Then compare that with the brown of the surrounding hills and the white of the snow-capped peaks in the background.

The runoff from the glaciers at Torres del Paine flows into this lake and the oxygen levels, coupled with the thin atmosphere down there give the water this crazy wonderful color.  It is also basically untouched by man, which helps.
