Great Egret Flight (11-22-06) - a photo on Flickriver

            Enterprise City Park, AL USA....Large Pond, upper end.

LANDING.......The Great Blue Heron is the king of the pond and larger than the Egret. The Great Egret will fly off anytime the Heron moves in close. This egret had been in a tree and decided to come back to a place, just away from the Heron.

Edit: The Great Egret (Ardea alba) has black legs & feet, yellow bill.  The Great Egret is smaller than a similar species the Great White Heron which has yellow legs. Pg. 112 National Geographic "Complete Birds of North America"
