G-TAWD Boeing 737-8K5SW TUI Airways UK MAN 08MAY24

            We're reaching the time of year when heat shimmer starts to take effect.  It's slightly affecting this shot.

This aircraft was delivered to Thomson Airways as G-TAWD in Feb-12.  It was fitted with 'Split Scimitar' winglets in May-14.

It was wet-leased to Sunwing Airlines (Canada) in Dec-15 and returned to Thomson Airways in Apr-16.  Thomson Airways was renamed TUI Airways UK in Nov-17.

The aircraft was leased to Sunwing Airlines as C-GFWD in Dec-17, returning to TUI UK as G-TAWD in May-18.  This was repeated in Dec-21 with the aircraft becoming C-FYSD with Sunwing and returning to TUI UK as G-TAWD in May-22.

On 20-Oct-23, while landing at Leeds/Bradford Airport in strong winds and heavy rain during storm 'Babel', the aircraft ran off the edge of the runway and was bogged down in thick mud.

It was pulled out of the mud the following day and after a good jetwash and a thorough check-over, it ferried to Warsaw, Poland for some major maintenance.

It returned to London-Gatwick in early Dec-23 and ferried to Toronto, ON, Canada two days later for winter lease to Sunwing as C-FYSD again.  The aircraft returned to TUI UK as G-TAWD at the end of Apr-24.  Current.
