Long-eared owl Asio otus (Kent Uk) - a photo on Flickriver

            This long-eared owl has chosen to live next to a public footpath although spending most of its daylight hours asleep  it is still very difficult to pick out in the gloom of its chosen roost . Smaller than a wood pigeon , largely nocturnal and with amazing camouflage this is the best Image I  have managed of one in all my years of photographing birds . The location this image was taken at is withheld.
