No "Professional Looking Cameras" allowed......

I spent a past 5 days in Charlevoix enjoying the Venetian Festival and all that it has to offer. We really had a great time spending 4 night on a boat docked in Round Lake in front of all the action. 

Every night they had a free concert at the Odmark Band Pavilion and on Thursday evening they had Sweet Tea Trio & Easton Corbin. We had good seats on the lawn about 5 rows back from the stage. I had taken some shot at the concert on Wednesday evening with my "Professional Looking Camera" without any issues and was able to move freely around the venue getting some good shots. So I thought I would be able to do the same with Thursday nights concert. I sat down and with my "Professional Looking Camera" in anticipation of getting some good shots. I noticed the girl in front of me had a "Professional Looking Camera" so I started up a conversation with her and talked about photography and shooting the concert. 

When Easton Corbin started I took a few shots from my seat not moving around at all. This girl in front of me got up and moved to get a better shot and within a few minutes security came over to where she was standing and told her no "Professional Looking Cameras" were aloud. She was told she had to remove her camera from the event. She complained a bit but to no avail had to take the camera away. That is when I decided to just hang low for awhile and not get up with my "Professional Looking Camera". 

This is when I realized that there were a couple thousand people here watching and 95% had cell phones. These cell phones all have cameras and do a pretty good job taking photos. 

What the hell....so here is one of my shots (I will post more later) of Easton Corbin taken with my "Professional Looking Camera" surrounded by everyone with their cell phones taking photos, videos and selfies. To me it just doesn't make sense.
