Listen, if I was friends with David Lynch (which I'm not unfortunately) I would cook him up his favorite quinoa dish and I'd say, "David.." (we'd be friends therefore on first name basis) "..you know that scene in the next film you're writing when there's just this cathartic release when the two main protagonists go into a lonely bar in the middle of nowhere and there's this amazing metaphor for the potential in humanity and it's a woman and she's singing these songs? She's like out of the 40s or 50s and her voice is so real and pure she doesn't even need to feed it through any effects of anything. She's kind of like an indie rock angel. Well, David, I found your angel."

"And how did you like that quinoa dish I made for you? Would you like to make it too and we'll do another zainy youtube? No? Well, some other time then. Hey, can you call me up tomorrow and tell me what the weather is going to be like in LA? I only believe in meteorology when it arises from indie noir film directors."

If the above doesn't convince you to check out Angel Olsen's songs then there probably just isn't much hope for you. Sorry.

This was actually taken three years ago at 2007 at Ronnys when she opened for Marissa Nadler.

Ronnys is a dive bar that holds around 50 people.

At least at that time, the floors were so sticky with urine.

There was one light in the whole room and it was red.

I saw Andrew Bird there that night.

As always, he had this deer in the headlights look when he saw me.

There have been too many times when I have told him he is amazing. He knows I know who he is and doesn't want his cover blown.

I am not about to blow anyone's cover.

For real.

My favorite David Lynch film is Mulholland Drive in case anyone is wondering.

But the first season, and beginning and end of the second season is great too.

The extras on Twin Peaks are kind of depressing though. I recommend not watching those.
