When I came up to Washington from northern California for the first time in August, 2019 to visit friends and we were driving around University Place (adjacent to Tacoma) and I got my first sighting ot Mt. Rainier, without realizing I was about to - I blurted out "that's it - I'm moving here!" and 2 years and two COVID vaccinations later I made it! And on the days the mountain is out it's a real thrill and people who've lived here for years have told me they never get tired of the view and are always thrilled to get a glimpse!
