Ali Levack is from Maryburgh (near Dingwall) in Ross-shire. and now lives in Galway. He was the BBC Radio Scorland Young Traditional Musician of the Year in 2020. He performs with Project Smok and GLIN (a duo wth Craig Irving). This New Voices concert consisted of previous tune commissions. It started with just Lavack and Pablo Lafuente, who were then gradually joined by the other musicians. I have taken several photos of Levack before, including ones with his own band, Benedict Morris, Mischa Macpherson and at a TMSA Young Trad Tour concert elsewhere at this festival (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/alilevack/).
