Sledway - a photo on Flickriver

Sledway

            Part of an old sledway on Rowland Cote Moor on the southern edge of Kinder Scout in Edale. This was used to transport peat, which was cut on these moors, back down to Edale. The process continued until the railway was built through Edale in the 19thC when coal became easily available instead.
