Souvanna Khom Kham Ruins, Bokeo Province

            The Souvanna Khom Kham Ruins, about an hour by boat from Houay Xay, cover an area of over 10,000 hectares. These archaelogical ruins mostly date back to the era when Laos was the Kingdom of Lane Xang, though this site was first established many centuries earlier, over 1600 years ago. It comprises around 40 different sites with temples, stupas and statues dotted around the area. Most well known is the Buddha Statue which, at 7 metres high is one of the tallest in Laos. 
ເມືອງເກົ່າສຸວັນນາໂຄມຄໍາ ແມ່ນໃຊ້ເວລາເດີນທາງປະມານ 1 ຊົ່ວໂມງໂດຍເຮືອຈາກເມືອງຫ້ວຍຊາຍ, ມີເນື້ອທີ່ກວມເອົາຫຼາຍກວ່າ 10,000 ເຮັກຕາ. ບັນດາຮ່ອງຮອຍຊາກຫັກພັງທາງບູຮານຄະດີເຫຼົ່ານີ້ສ່ວນຫຼາຍແມ່ນມີມາແຕ່ສະໄໝທີ່ປະເທດລາວຍັງເປັນອານາຈັກຂອງລາວລ້ານຊ້າງ, ແຕ່ເຂດສະຖານທີ່ແຫ່ງນີ້ໄດ້ຖືກສ້າງຕັ້ງຂຶ້ນຫຼາຍສະຕະວັດກ່ອນໜ້າເປັນເວລາຫຼາຍກວ່າ 1600 ປີ. ເມືອງດັ່ງກ່າວປະກອບມີປະມານ 40 ສະຖານທີ່ ທີ່ແຕກຕ່າງກັນ ເຊິ່ງລວມມີວັດວາອາຮາມ, ພະທາດ ແລະ ຮູບປັ້ນຕ່າງໆອ້ອມຮອບບໍລິເວນດັ່ງກ່າວ. ເປັນທີ່ຮູ້ຈັກກັນດີທີ່ສຸດແມ່ນ ພະພຸດທະຮູບ ສູງ 7 ແມັດ ເຊິ່ງເປັນໜຶ່ງໃນພະພຸດທະຮຼບທີ່ສູງທີ່ສຸດໃນປະເທດລາວ.
