Shimmylicious Zebralicious - a photo on Flickriver

I absolutely LOVE the southwest. I can't get enough of it. Every time I go I'm blown away by the amazing landscape that's all around. One of my favorite things to photograph there are the slot canyons. They're easy to shoot and doesn't require much from Mama Nature. Zebra Canyon, a remote slot canyon in Escalante National Monument has been on my list for years.

Willie and I flew to Salt Lake with the intention of picking up Phill Monson and heading down to Escalante. Of course he bailed as he tends to do and it was just Willie and I. Fine with me -- we had these slot canyons all to ourselves!

Wanting to get a slightly more unique view of Zebra Canyon, Willie and I decided to try shimmying up the rock walls to get some height and look down into the canyon. I gave it a test run and then Willie (and his slightly more stable tripod) went for the final score. What do you think of the higher perspective?
