Monument to Justice - a photo on Flickriver

            “We're here.”

“Unbelievable! We actually got somewhere?”

Irritated at her cousin, she jetted the thrusters toward the small ramp that jutted from the stones before giving her copilot his instructions. She could feel him looking at the back of her head, semi-panicked. 

“Wait-”

“Port 38 degrees,” she suddenly cried, “hurry up!”

He scrambled to obey, and an otherwise safe docking was shaken up slightly by several hours' worth of pent-up spite. Walking onto the natural platform, Pesh appreciatively surveyed the artistry of the monument as she had many times before, but Daawr fell to his knees and gaped at it. 

“Get up, we're not here to bow and ogle at that thing. We're here...well, we're here on janitor duty, to be honest.”

“I've been standing for nearly five hours now! I wanted to make sure my knees hadn't atrophied...”

Pesh ignored him; she knew he would soon grow to hate his turn sitting in the thrust pilot's seat during their return. 

“What do you mean by 'janitor duty'?”

“The recent storm really blew our eastern cities apart. Fortunately, due to their dynamic foundation,”-she gestured to the energy pads keeping the rock afloat-”we only had to reposition them and fix a few minor damages. Now that the imperative infrastructure is back in place, parties are being sent out to retrieve monuments. We are here to steer this particular one back...with this.”

Daawr reached for the Mason Key she had produced from the pocket in her skirt. The small glass ring contained an algorithm that would allow them to access the repulsor controls on the monument's system processor. He slipped it into a carved and equally ornate recess in back of the stone lemniscate at her direction, and a holographic display began to glow...

I've wanted to update my icon for some time and had an idea for this floating rocks build. (honestly, it seems like building them is a requirement for FOLdom these days...) 

Ah yes, I know the editing job isn't up to par... :/

EARLY 2017 EDIT: For the rare person who somehow remembers the original description on this and is now here wondering why I changed it...it really just didn't fit. I had the best intentions, but I don't know how I expected a G.K Chesterton quote to tie into this alien story the way I had it, haha.
