I Think I Can Fly

            Bracken at Headley Heath. I was talking with a friend of mine the other day over a coffee and we both agreed that woodland photography at this time of year, when there is not a lot of colour left in the woods, nearly always works best when you shoot in a woodland with abundant bracken. Bracken is simply a largish fern that is often seen here in the UK in heathland environments. Its a verdant green in the summer but dies off to these wonderful rich browns and golds in the late autumn. They are not often the star of the show but they always enhance the richness of the colour when you can include them in any autumnal composition.
