Midnight Poem - the shooting - a photo on Flickriver

            
These photos were from the shooting. I took quite a lot with different poses and angles, to get the three final photos I could send the jury.

BTW, the front bow is detachable. It's a pity I couldn't show that with the three photos I had to send, nor it could be mentioned anyway. I think a lot of people don't like gowns, had a huge Poppy overkill in 2017 and these were probably the biggedst downers for my entry.
But - it doesn't matter! I made exactly what I had in mind when the email came back then in August and Sappho and I made it to the finales, that alone is awesome.

My inspiration doll was the regrettably never produced prototype doll of the “Poetry in motion” Poppy Parker fashion that was released in 2009, Poppy’s first year. The original outfit was clearly a daytime fashion, so I chose to transform it into a nighttime gown that Poppy might wear at Prom or on a date night with Chip (yes, here is someone still shipping her with Chip).
When thinking about what to take from the original design and what to leave, I asked myself which parts I felt were the most significant of the outfit. It was soon clear that I especially loved the color scheme with satin white, midnight blue and fuchsia pink that kind of echoes the Poppy Parker box’s pink sash. For the gown itself I wanted to keep the beautiful white bodice and pair it with a full midnight blue skirt. My favourite part from “Poetry in motion” probably is the pink belt, so I kept the idea and rearranged it into a sewn on draped fuchsia sash that overlaps in the front. Since a lot of original dresses from the sixties featured a prominent bow, so I played along and made a pink satin bow with the twist of it being de- and reattachable easily with a hook in case Poppy might want to sport a more modern look without a bow ; ).
The outfit consists of a separated top and skirt, just like the inspirational design.
Poppy wears a black tulle petticoat underneath, black tights, black satin shoes and decided on dark blue earrings and a delicate bracelet made from white pearl beads and crystal beads.
The doll itself is my beloved “Peony” Parker, formerly one of the Mood Changer Poppy dolls. I’ve repainted her in reference to the “Poetry in motion” prototype doll and gave her a hairstyle that was inspired by sixties prom hairstyles.
