Coast Guard Rescue Selfie - a photo on Flickriver

My steering cable snapped while salmon fishing solo out in the Pacific Ocean. The 87' US Coast Guard Cutter Hawksbill responded rapidly to a radio call. I will forever be in their debt. 

Once the tow rope was secured I had nothing to do during the long ride back to San Francisco . . . except take a rare selfie to document the occasion and to celebrate getting rescued. 

19 years later I still enjoy Pyramid Hefe and this 30 year old Arima boat is still providing exceptional aquatic adventures. 

Sometimes we all need a little help.
