Rusting abandoned Seaboard Rail - a photo on Flickriver

            Still spiked down, well sorta...

Abandoned rail marks the spot...who would ever suspect that $25 million in confederate gold boullion was buried at the end of this rail in the middle of a Henderson, NC city street...I mean really(get permission before you dig)...and if you blieve that...email me privately I have several other bargains to offer...LMAO!!!

This fascinates me, as I drove by here a number of times and never noticed until I stopped to get a pic of something else. Wasa likely distracted wondering what complex to the top of the photo on the other side of the road had been razed. It was obviously served by rail unless...chuckle!  Evidence suggests that others have driven over the end closest to the road, would hate to hit the bottom of my car on this, it has obviously been here a very long time. One more weird fascinating discovery. this is beside the main line of the Former Raleigh and Gaston, then Seaboard, then Seaboard Coast Line. No idea when the complex across the street was abandoned or razed.
