Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach - a photo on Flickriver

The Golden Gate Bridge was the largest suspension bridge in the world when it was completed in 1937 and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco. It is arguably the most recognizable bridge in the world. It is currently the second largest suspension bridge in the US. In my opinion, the most beautiful of the suspension bridges the Golden Gate Bridge Art Deco touches to the towers. The bridge's bright orange red paint makes it stand out amongst all other suspension bridges and makes for fantastic photographic contrast. At night it is the jewel of the San Francisco Bay Area. Best pictures of the bridge are taken from Ft. Point, The Marin Headlands and Baker Beach.
