            The shower head pipe was leaking where it screwed into the shower head. 
I tried to unscrew the shower head from the pipe, but no matter how hard I 
pulled and pushed (with two wrenches), I could not separate the two 
pieces. Then my wife and I tried together---same result. 

Then I had an idea: increase the mechanical advantage by lengthening the handle of one of the wrenches. Pictured here is the result. The handle is about four feet (1.2m) long. However, this adaptation was unnecessary because my wife suggested that we try to unscrew the "pipe and shower head together" from the pipe in the wall. We tried that and could not believe how easy it was. Then I fixed the leak and re-assembled everything. Later I undid the adaptation pictured here.
