First design for a rain awning... 20050623_4521

            Components:
1. The awning fabric, cut from a blue tarp
2. An arm that pushes the awning away from the window (attached to the rolled-down window, sticking out 90 degrees from the window, and made of aluminum from a discarded residential rain gutter)
3. Two sticks, one to hold the awning on the roof, the other to attach the bottom end of the awning to the arm (and stiffen the full width of the awning)
4. Clamps to attach the awning to the bottom stick and control wind flapping.

This design worked, but was a hassle to set up and take down.
