St. Henry's Tower Street Scene - a photo on Flickriver

            Looking towards St. Henry's Tower (Jindřišská) in Old Town Prague.  The Gothic tower is the tallest detached bell tower in Prague (65m) and dates back to 1475.  St. Henry's Tower sits just across from St. Henry's church, whose steeple walls were deemed too weak to suspend the church bells - thus requiring an independent tower be built.   Wars and weather took their toll over time and the tower - like most others in Prague - has gone through several renovations.  

This tower has two unique side notes though; first, all of the church bells in Prague were harvested for their metal during wartime, except for one bell called Marie in St. Henry's.  Second, the tower was most recently renovated in 2001 when the interior was completely remodeled to accommodate a museum and restaurant while leaving the exterior intact.
