Taiping Perak Malaysia 11th April 1981

            Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM)  Class 21 diesel 21109 arrives in Taiping station  past a fine gantry of very British-looking lower quadrant semaphore signals.

This was the train from Kuala Lumpur and is coming off the single track section from Ipoh to the south of Taiping.

21109 is a member of the 25-strong Class 21 Diesel Hydraulic mainline locomotives, manufactured by Kisha Seizo Kaisha, Japan. Introduced in two batches: the first, 21101 - 21115, came in 1965, followed by 21201 - 21210 three years later.
