Leeds West Yorkshire 8th May 2023

            Taken from the disused ex-Great Northern Railway Monk Bridge viaduct over the Leeds and Liverpool Canal a Northern Class 185 diesel multiple unit is seen curving slowly out of Whitehall Junction and approaching Leeds station on a very wet Bank Holiday Monday. 

The area around Whitehall is being developed and for the time being the railway is in view. No doubt the cleared area below the train, once part of the site of the Monkbridge Iron & Steelworks, will be filled with high rise buildings just like the area behind the camera.
