            Here's the deal: this time of year tends to be on the slow side for work. I'm a freelancer, I'm used to it, I've got all kinds of ways to spend my time if I'm not working. 

Surfing! Love surfing, back in January, rode some seven foot waves in LA, incredible. 

Photography! Perhaps you've seen my pictures? 

Only problem with all of this? The goddamn storms that won't stop hitting LA. I'm old, shooting in the rain ain't as fun as it used to be, and because of the way LA's founders built the city, the runoff during and after a storm means no surfing for the length of said storm. 

Can't go to a lush park like here with Brittany. Can't get my exercise in. It's like lockdown all over again! 

On the bright side, I found a few new restaurants I dig, I'm using my rower a lot more, and I finished a book I thought I'd never even start (Mike Davis' Ecology of Fear). 

And as I learned in that movie classic, The Crow, "It can't rain all the time."
