            Campanula persicifolia is commonly called peach-leaved bellflower because the long narrow leaves resemble those of the peach tree.
It is native to Western Asia and Europe, and forms upright spires about 3 feet tall, with many flowers of lavender-blue or white.
Campanula persicifolia or Peach-leaved Bellflower is a plant species of the genus Campanula.
It is common in the Alps and other mountains in Europe. It grows at lower altitudes in the north, and higher up further south, passing 1500 m in Provence.
It flowers normally in June; a dry summer may reduce or inhibit its flowering.

Campanula (nome scientifico Campanula persicifolia L.) è una pianta erbacea perenne, dai fiori blu o bianchi a forma di campana, appartenente alla famiglia delle Campanulaceae.
Questo genere è molto vasto : secondo le varie classificazioni si arriva anche oltre alle 250 specie elencate. Una sessantina circa sono spontanee del nostro territorio; le altre hanno origine dai territori delle zone temperate dell'emisfero boreale (una ventina e forse più sono originarie dell'America del Nord). È comunque dalle regioni mediterranee che si pensa abbia avuto inizio la distribuzione, nel resto del mondo, di queste piante.
