Liberty enlightening the world - a photo on Flickriver

            Bronze of the "first model" by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (2010).

Since 1886, dominating the New York Bay, the Statue of Liberty is the best-known work of Bartholdi.

The statue was offered by France to the United States. This bronze is made from the "execution model" in plaster at 1/16, dating of 1878 which is exposed in the church of the Musée des arts et métiers / CNAM.

Gift of Mr and Mrs Guillaume Duhamel.
