            Striped Swamp Spider (Miturga gilva), a native spider found in a web retreat under a log next to Common Creek. This spider is commonly seen in the evening moving along the ground hunting for prey.
According to the Atlas of Living Australia:
Brief description A brown mottled hunting spider with two white stripes forming a 'V' on the underside. Cannot climb smooth surfaces.
Biology These fast-moving predators are common near swampy areas and creek banks where they hunt insects and spiders. Their egg sacs can be found attached to bark. They build small silken retreats.
Habitat Moist aquatic habitats near swamps, mangroves and creeks.
Maximum size (cm) female 18mm male 10mm
Diet Carnivore
Dangerous Usually harmless, but can bite.
Distribution South-east Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
